“MOON RIVER” TWO-STATE EXCHANGE WEEKEND

To Our OES Sisters and Brothers in South Carolina and Georgia….

Your Worthy Grand Matrons have planned an Exchange Weekend of fun and fellowship in Savannah, Georgia. Please join us on Friday and Saturday, March 5-6, 2010 for an exciting weekend we’ve named “ Moon River” in honor of Savannah native, Johnny Mercer! By request, we’re having dinner at Lady & Sons Restaurant (Paula Deen’s) on Friday evening. Cost: $30 per person. Please arrive by 7:30 for our dinner seating at 8:00. Location: 102 W. Congress St., Savannah GA 31401, Dress: Casual. On Saturday afternoon, there will be carriage ride tours of Savannah. You'll get a wonderful introduction to places, architecture and history of this charming city for only $21 per person. We are hoping to have a tour of Solomon's Lodge #1, Organized as a Masonic Lodge, February 21, 1734. Its first Worshipful Master was General James Edward Oglethorpe, founder of Georgia. This will be a visit with great historic significance for members of our Order. We don’t think there will be a charge for this, but you will need to handle your own transportation. Our finale will be dinner Saturday evening at The Inn at Ellis Square. Cost: $35. Dress: Dressy Casual. A block of rooms is reserved at The Inn at Ellis Square , 201 West Bay Street, Savannah, GA 31401-1195. It is two blocks from Paula Deen’s, two blocks from Solomon’s Lodge and site of the Saturday evening banquet. Each person needs to make their own hotel arrangements. Room rates for our event are $119 +18% (21.42) = $140.42 for up to 4 in a room. For reservations call (912) 236-4440 and tell them you’re with the Order of the Eastern Star.
