I was born and raised in Dillon, S.C. After school I entered the US Navy were I served two tours of duty for a total of nine years.

After leaving the Navy, I surrendered to a call to be a Minister of the Gospel. I graduated from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute in Hendersonville, N.C. I have served several churches as a full time Pastor in both North Carolina and South Carolina. After leaving the "full time pastorate", I served as Interim pastor at churches until a few years ago.

I retired as a Manager with the then Durham Life Insurance Co. in Charleston, S.C. While living in Summerville, I joined Summerville Masonic Lodge #234 AFM and the Summerville Chapter #143 Order of the Eastern Star. After moving to Easley, S.C. in 2004, I demitted to Bates Lodge and Easley Chapter #200 Order of the Eastern Star in Easley, S.C.
